Tiden Regional Park Little Farm, Berkeley CA.JPG

I have had a great time traveling with Gracen this winter. This photograph is from a trip we took with my dear friend Mollie who flew out from West Virginia to meet us in San Francisco in January for five days. We decided upon all kid friendly activities for our daily excursions. This photo captures Gracen’s first experience feeding a goat at Tiden Regional Little Farm Park in Berkeley, CA. Facilitating Gracen’s safe exploration of the world is a rewarding journey. I follow his lead through it all.

Traveling together as a family is the best kind of trip, but Shannon has limited time off because of his job. Being a stay-at-home mom, means I do not have to “stay at home,” so Gracen and I went on a 3-week tour of the East coast in February and March to visit my family and some of my life long friends. I lived in Virginia for 29 years of my life, 17 of those years with Shannon, and grew up in different parts of the East coast. We visited my mom and dad, sisters and their families, aunts and uncles and cousins, and my friends in Virginia and West Virginia. It was such a gift to reconnect with so many loved ones in person.

One unique thing to note about our travels was that we brought a pop up tent that we put up indoors and often on top of beds for our sleeping arrangements. This way I was able to create a consistent space for Gracen to sleep every night, even though we stayed in many people’s homes. Gracen loved it; I believe it made him feel a greater sense of security, and we slept well!
