Our Family

How We Met, according to Laura…We first fell in love backpacking in Alaska. My friend invited Shannon to join us on a backpacking trip, but Shannon, uncertain of our skills, politely declined opting instead for the lesser commitment of mountain biking nearby. However, on the car ride, when it was clear there were sparks between us, suddenly Shannon wanted to join us for a long hike too! The very next day we left for another backpacking trip, this time with my sister.  At the end of that trip, even before we had our first kiss, my sister proclaimed to my mother, “He’s the one Laura’s going to marry!”

 

We are still deeply in love, have weathered challenging times, and have discovered great strengths together as a couple.  We make a good team, using humor to ease life’s stresses and becoming sounding boards for each other when needed. We support each other’s deep desires and give each other strength in times of change.  We have tenacity as a couple and rediscover our love in new ways.  Most importantly, we still have great fun together!
